Latest on Super Visa Insurance

On Nov 4, the Government of Canada announced that it is taking action to cut the backlog of sponsorship applications for parents and grandparents. With more than 165,000 parents and grandparents having applied to become permanent residents of Canada, processing times exceed seven years. To alleviate this situation, the Canadian government is introducing the new “Parent and Grandparent Super Visa,” which will be valid for up to 10 years.

The new Super Visa, which will come into effect on December 1, 2011, will be a multiple-entry visa which allows the visa holder to remain in Canada for up to two years at a time without the need to renewal their visa. This means that instead of waiting for over seven years, a parent or a grandparent can come to Canada after only a short (expected to take 8 weeks to issue) visa application process. The government has stated that applicants will be required to obtain private Canadian health-care insurance for their stay in Canada.

Free Quote for Super Visa Insurance As in the case of other temporary entry visa's that require private health insurance, it is expected that neither the Government of Canada nor the provincial or territorial government in the Canadian province or territory in which you will be staying can be held liable for a Super Visa recipient's medical fees and expenses.

Private health insurance that meets the requirements of Canadian Immigration must cover healthcare, hospitalization and repatriation (return of remains to home country in the case of death) costs. Comprehensive travel medical insurance such as the Visitors to Canada insurance found here at BestQuote Travel Insurance Agency meets these requirements.

While details about minimum insurance levels, renewability clauses, and other specific requirements are still forthcoming (we will post them here as soon as they are clarified) from the government, usually the visa recipient is required to provide proof of insurance upon entry to Canada, not at application time. Super Visa applicants will first apply for their visa, once accepted will arrange travel details, including finding themselves adequate health insurance. They'll find that our site has the very lowest Visitors to Canada insurance costs, that many of our plans can cover pre-existing medical conditions, and that the plans can be purchased easily online without lengthy medical questionnaires.
